The Beaches Area Historical Society will hold its 31st Anniversary Gala, “Night at the Museum” at the Beaches Museum & History Center located in Jacksonville Beach. This annual special fundraising event will be held on October 15, 2011 from 6:00 to 10:00 PM.

Donating with The Blood Alliance (TBA) during the month of October means you will be helping fund breast cancer research with one blood donation!   TBA is donating $1 to The Donna Foundation for each blood donation made at any of our donor centers throughout the month of October to honor National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  TBA is additionally donating $5 for every 50 online accumulated ePoints donated back by donors this month in our Hero Rewards Store located in eDonor at www.igiveblood.com.  Additionally, Comcast is also partnering with TBA to contribute a monetary gift to this cause.

Blistur, Cupid’s Alley and Kickin’ Lassie are among 10 bands now scheduled to perform during  Bands Against Breast Cancer’s Fourth-Annual  Boobsapalooza event from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1 at Lynch’s Irish Pub, 514 N. First St. in Jacksonville Beach.
