Beaches Regional Library to Temporarily Close

The Beaches Regional Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 31 through Sunday, Feb. 6 while the city conducts maintenance on the air conditioning system and replaces the light poles in the parking lot.

During the closure, customers are encouraged to visit the Pablo Creek Regional Library at 13295 Beach Blvd. Library materials may be placed in the book drop at the Beaches Regional Library while it is closed, or they may be returned to any Jacksonville Public Library location. A full list of library locations and their hours of operations is available at www.jaxpubliclibrary.org

Jacksonville Area Florida Department of Transportation Lane Closings Jan 15 - 21

January 15 through January 21

I-10/I-95 interchange reconstruction project

Lanes and ramps will be closed nightly at various locations within the project limits from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday, January 17 through Friday, January 21. Detour signs will be posted. All work should be finished in early 2011.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) wants to know what Floridians think about providing more daylight-hunting hours to alligator hunters. The public can comment via an online survey.

Mayor John Peyton and the City of Jacksonville invite First Coast families and their guests to see downtown in a whole new light at the 2010 Jacksonville Light Parade on Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at 7 p.m. on the downtown riverfront.
