Police release name of man arrested in Christmas Day domestic dispute | News
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Beach Police Department released the name of a man arrested after police were called to conduct a welfare check on Christmas Day.
Police arrested 51-year-old Maximillian Michaels on three counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, according to Sgt. Tommy Crumley, Public Information Officer for the Jacksonville Beach Police Department.
Police were called to a home in the 1800 block of 1st St. around 5 p.m. Christmas Day, Sgt. Crumley said. Officers came to the home at the request of a neighbor. The neighbor called police, Crumley said, to have them check on a female neighbor who had not been seen for some time.
Crumley said when officers arrived at the home they found a domestic disturbance had occurred between two roommates. At some point the dispute turned violent, according to police.
As officers investigated the dispute, Crumley said Michaels allegedly attacked them. Police tased and then arrested Michaels.
Crumley said after police had Michaels in custody, he had to be taken to Beaches Baptist ER for unrelated medical conditions.
