1 hospitalized, 1 in custody after a welfare check in Jacksonville Beach | News
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- A woman was transported to Shands Jacksonville and one person has been detained after the Jacksonville Beach Police Department was asked to conduct a welfare check on Tuesday night.
During the welfare check in the 1800 block of 1st Street South, officers found that a disturbance had turned violent, according to Sgt. Tommy Crumley, Public Information Officer for the JBPD.
The person who called for the welfare check was a third party, not the person who was transported or the person who was detained, Crumley said.
