ATLANTIC BEACH, Fla. -- Police were originally called to an Atlantic Beach home early Monday morning to reports of a fight. However, when they arrived, they found a party with underage drinking that resulted in two adults being arrested.

Police were called to the home in the 420 block of Skate Road shortly after 6:45 a.m. Monday to reports of a fight involving a knife.

When they got to the home, they found Arkim Reyes being held on the ground, according to an arrest report from the Atlantic Beach Police Department.

The report says after police handcuffed Reyes, they began their investigation into what happened. While conducting that investigation, officers noticed several individuals drinking alcoholic beverages who were not 21 or older.

Officers then interviewed Joan Dupree, who also lives at the Skate Road home.

Dupree told officers the fight happened after Reyes, her boyfriend, and her cousin got into an argument.

The report says Dupree was read her Miranda Rights and questioned about the underage people drinking alcohol at her home.

Dupree told police when she came home from work around 1:45 a.m., people were drinking at her home. The report says she told police she knew they were drinking, but did not know how old they were.  She also told police, according to the report, that she did not try to get anyone to leave.

As police were reading the Florida statute about open house parties, Dupree told police "take me to jail." Dupress was arrested and taken to the Duval County Jail on a charge of "allow minor alcohol or drugs at an open house party."

Officers then spoke further with Reyes. He told police he was the one who bought the alcoholic beverages. According to the report, Reyes even told officers there was more alcohol in the refrigerator.

Reyes told officers he knew the people drinking were underage and that he did not try to get anyone to leave or to stop drinking.

Reyes was arrested and taken to the Duval County Jail also on a charge of "allow minor alcohol or drugs at an open house party."

Both Reyes and Dupree were released from jail after posting $1,508 bond.

Also arrested at the house party was 20-year-old Nathaniel Smith.  Smith was charged with possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under 21. He has since been released from the Duval County Jail.
