JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla- Wednesday marks the official start of summer and that means even more people will be heading to the beach.
When you come to the beach the last thing you want to see is bottles and food wrappers. It's unsightly and not good for the environment. So today the City of Jacksonville's Clean it up, Green It Up office is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation to observe 'International Surf Day' with a beach clean up.
The clean up will begin at 6:30 p.m. and volunteers are to meet at 16th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach. Gloves and litter bags will be given out, so you don't need to bring anything with you.
If you are under 18 and would like to volunteer, you do have to have an adult with you. You don't need to register in advance.
Once the clean up is done, all the surfers are welcome to paddle out into the ocean and enjoy the waves on the first day of summer!
