Driver Cited For Causing Police Cruiser Wreck | News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A driver was cited after police said he caused an accident involving a police cruiser on Wonderwood Drive.

According to police at the scene, the accident involved an off duty officer who was traveling westbound on Wonderwood Drive at A1A before 6:30 a.m. Another vehicle turned in front of the police cruiser, causing the cruiser to hit that vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle was treated for a minor leg injury and cited for failure to yield. The officer was not injured.

All lanes have been reopened and a tow truck is removing the vehicles from the scene.

Traffic was backed up on Wonderwood Drive for some time as a result of the investigation.
