Woman Hit by Car in Publix Lot Unconscious, Investigation Stalls

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The police investigation into an accident involving a car and a pedestrian at the Marsh Landing Publix in December has stalled.

According to Jacksonville Beach Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Thomas Bingham, the victim, Pam Lagosh, 53, is unconscious and police have not been able to interview her about the accident.

Lagosh was airlfited to Shands Jacksonville after being hit by a car in the shopping center's parking lot on December 23, 2011.

The driver, Judy Grimes, 50, has not been cited or charged in the accident.

Police have released recordings of the emergency calls made about the accident that day.  Witnesses who called 911 said Lagosh, a Jacksonville Beach resident, was in bad shape.

Caller:  "We need an ambulance quickly at the Publix-the Marsh Landing Publix-a woman has just been run over!  And she's flat out."

Dispatcher:  "Ok.  We'll get them on the way."

Caller:  "Thank you."

Police hope to be able to resume their investigation as soon as Lagosh's condition improves.
