Woman Hit in Publix Parking Lot, Critical | News

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- Police are still trying to figure out what caused a vehicle to hit a 53-year-old woman in the parking lot of the Publix grocery store on Marsh Landing Parkway.

According to a news release from Sgt. Thomas Bingham with Jax Beach PD, the victim was life-flighted to Shands Jacksonville in critical condition following the crash.

Investigators determined that the women involved did not know each other prior to the incident, Commander Gene Paul Smith said at the scene.

There's no word yet on whether the vehicle's driver will be cited.
