Adventure Landing hoping to break water slide world record | News
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- For the last three years Adventure Landing at Jacksonville Beach has
hosted the Slide-a-thon to benefit the Ronald McDonald House.
To participate in this year's event, you may sign up for $10 and slide non-stop on the Undertow Water Slide in the park.
The last person standing wins.
Last year's winner slid for 33 hours and 44 minutes, which is a world record.
This year they hope to eclipse the 35 hour mark, which would set a whole new record.
"Sliding down only takes a minute, but the climb up the 62 stairs is a long walk," said Michelle Branham with Adventure Landing.
All the money goes to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Jacksonville and Gainesville.
The last person standing gets a week long stay on Amelia Island. The event starts Friday at 6:00 p.m.
