2 arrested for posting 'Townies Go Home' stickers

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- Two men were arrested Thursday for allegedly posting stickers on city signs around Jacksonville Beach that read "Townies Go Home."
    
Jason Henry Swanson, 34, and Matthew McCain Sugden-Kirsch, 31, are each facing a charge of criminal mischief, according to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office inmate records.

Sixty-four "freshly posted 'Townies Go Home' stickers" were found from 5th Avenue South to 9th Avenue North, according to a JSO incident report.

Swanson had 150 stickers in his backpack and Sugden-Kirsch had 54 of the stickers in his backpack, the report stated.

Swanson and Sugden-Kirsch appeared in court Friday at 9 a.m. Sugden-Kirsch was also arrested in 2004 on drug possession charges. Both men were released from jail on Thursday evening.

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department had an increased police
presence July 4 following the Memorial Day brawl that involved
dozens of people.
