Suspect Uses Stolen Credit Card 22 Times in 30 Minutes in 1 Store

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- It took a man with a stolen credit card half an hour to rack up nearly $2,400 in purchases at a convenience store.

According to a news release from Jacksonville Beach Police Department Sgt. Tom Bingham, the incident happened at the Kangaroo Express on Third Street at 25th Avenue South in Jacksonville Beach Monday, Nov. 21, at 1:30 a.m.

The suspect reportedly was in the store for 30 minutes, during which he made 22 separate purchases of cigarettes and gift cards.

The purchases totaled $2,397.67.

Bingham said the credit card was stolen, and that the suspect left in a newer model black 4-door vehicle, possibly a Nissan Altima or Maxima.

The store's surveillance camera captured an image of the suspect at the counter.
