Father's Day Pet Adoption Specials at Animal Care & Protective Services

In honor of all the great dads across Jacksonville, the city's Animal Care & Protective Services Division is offering pet adoption specials for male dogs and cats throughout June. All male pets will be available for adoption for only $20, which covers the license fee.  That could mean a savings of up to $80 off regular adoption fees.  All animals adopted from Animal Care & Protective Services have been screened for heartworms, spayed/neutered, microchipped and given an initial checkup and shots, including the rabies vaccine.

This Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Animal Care & Protective Services will hold a special pet adoption event, Happy Tails, at its main shelter at 2020 Forest Street. All cats, male or female, that are one year or older can be adopted for just $20. Also, if one kitten is adopted, the second kitten is free. There are so many cats in the shelter now in need of good homes, and this is a great opportunity rescue a shelter pet.  Happy Tails will also feature dogs up for adoption, a goat petting zoo and picture stations where adopted furry family members can have their pictures taken with their new owners.

ACPS ensures that animals are properly treated and controlled; serves as a resource for the adoption of healthy pets; and implements and enforces laws, regulations, codes and procedures concerning the treatment of domesticated and wild animals. The ACPS Center, located at 2020 Forest St., is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and is closed Sundays and holidays.
