Marc Antoine, Brian Simpson to headline 2nd concert of Jacksonville Beach's 2012 Summer Jazz Series

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. -- The lineup has been set for the second concert in the 11th Annual Summer Jazz Series, which will kick off on Sunday, July 8 at 5 p.m.

Admission to the concert is free. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs to sit on, according to a release from the city.

The opening act at the Sea Walk Pavillion will be Surge, a five-piece band that's been performing and releasing CDs since 1992. Surge, which has performed with artists such as Ed Calle, the Neville Brothers and Chuck Loeb, will take the stage at 5 p.m.

Marcus Anderson, the concert's second act, will take the stage at 6 p.m. Anderson has also performed at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival in Panama City, Fla., and the Catalina Island Jazz Trax Festival.

Headliners Marc Antoine and Brian Simpson are scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. Guitarist Antoine has played for artists such as Cher, George Benson and Celine Dion and composed for movie soundtracks such as "Get Shorty" and "Patch Adams."

Keyboardist Simpson has been Dave Koz's musical director for the past 15 years. He has also worked with Janet Jackson and Stanley Clarke.
