USS Taylor Returns from Six Month Deployment

More than 200 Sailors stationed on board USS Taylor (FFG 50) will return to Naval Station Mayport on Saturday, October 23, after a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea working as an independently deployed ship in the Sixth Fleet Area of Operations.

While deployed, the ship participated in several multi-national exercises and made a historic port visit to Murmansk, Russia.  Other port visits included Villefranche, France, Odessa, Ukraine, Copenhagen, Denmark, Rotterdam, Netherlands and A Coruna, Spain.

In addition to port calls, USS Taylor participated in several community service projects that ranged from delivering PROJECT HANDCLASP goods to orphanages in Ukraine, Croatia and Russia to disaster relief efforts in Draguignan, France after that area was destroyed by flash flooding.
